Dr. Luc Hesselschwardt graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in June 2005. Dr. Luc grew up outside of Defiance OH and was excited about the opportunity to move closer to family and friends. Dr. Luc especially enjoys surgery, and the large variety of cases in veterinary medicine. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with daughter Kaitlyn and son Breck, hiking, hunting, fishing and watching OSU football.
Dr. Rachel Hesselschwardt graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in June 2007. Dr. Rachel grew up outside of Montpelier OH. Dr. Rachel enjoys meeting new people and their pets. Dr. Rachel is especially interested in radiology and internal medicine. Outside of work Dr. Rachel enjoys playing with daughter Kaitlyn and son Breck, gardening and hiking. Drs. Luc and Rachel have a catahoula mix named Mabel, 3 ducks, and chickens.
Registered Veterinary Technicians, (RVT)
RVT's serve the role in veterinary medicine that registered nurses do in human medicine. RVT's apply their professional skills in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab testing, patient nursing, and client education.
Michelle received her veterinary technician degree from International Business College in December of 2008 and has been with our practice since 2008. Michelle enjoys hiking, bicycling, and spending time with her cat Peaches N' Cream.
Alexis received her veterinary technician degree from International Business College in December 2009 and has been with our practice since 2014. Alexis especially enjoys client education, radiology, and hematology. In her spare time Alexis enjoys running, kayaking, hiking, and biking in the summer and reading in the winter. Alexis has a lab mix named Daisy and cat named Razzberry.
The primary role of our receptionists is to provide excellent client service while creating a warm and compassionate environment for you and your pets. Not only do they take calls and greet you with a smile, but they enjoy getting to know all of our clients and their pets.
Claudia has been with our practice since 2009 and enjoys meeting everyone's pets. Claudia finds being a part of the care and healing process very rewarding. In her spare time, Claudia enjoys bicycling, hiking, gardening and playing with her grandchildren. Claudia has a beagle named Skeeter and two cats, Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong.
Vicki has been with our practice since 2011 and enjoys being able to help pets feel better. Vicki especially enjoys seeing the improvement in sick patients. Vicki loves to bake and try new recipes, she also likes puzzles, reading, sewing, and playing with her grandchild. Vicki has a lab mix named Diesel and a boxer named Dandee.
Jessica has been with our practice since 2013 and enjoys seeing all of the interesting cases that come in, especially c-sections and foreign body removals. Jessica enjoys kayaking, farming, bailing, showing dogs, and riding horses. Jessica has two quarter horses, M&M and Cougar, six Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Standard Rex rabbits, a cat named Betsy, Really the miniature Dachshund, Charlie Ann the South African Boerboel, a Boxer mix named Gemma, and Nikki the Border Collie.
